OPHC Quarterly Meeting Recap: July 2026

The Oak Park Homelessness Coalition (OPHC) met on July 16 to share updates on housing, homelessness services, behavioral health programs, and community partnerships in Oak Park.
Housing Forward Updates
Housing Forward shared updates on several projects, including upcoming HUD funding applications, the move to the West Cook YMCA in early August, and the Safe Ride CTA Pilot, which is expected to launch in September.
They also shared updates on their Emergency Shelter and Street Outreach programs, including current service numbers and the continued need for affordable housing.

Keystone Development
Perry Vietti, President of IHDC, shared an update on the Keystone Development, a planned 36-unit permanent supportive housing project in Oak Park. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

ECHO Program
The Village of Oak Park shared that the ECHO Program is now a permanent Village program. ECHO continues connecting residents with housing, behavioral health, senior services, and other community resources.

NAMI Metro Suburban – Oak Park Living Room
Shelly Lustrup and Beck Beishen shared an overview of the Oak Park Living Room, a peer-led program that provides support for people experiencing a mental health crisis. They also discussed the program's first few months, community partnerships, and available resources.
